Marcie and Mark Zinn: Biofeedback: Doing well
by Doing Better, How to work smart instead of hard
Dr. Zinn will be demonstrating the use of biofeedback equipment, formerly only available to the medical profession, for technique training, which allows teachers to train their own technique. By using this affordable system, teachers can improve their own technique regimens through biofeedback.

ways to motivate, inspire, and keep those intermediate students
practicing instead of becoming another sad statistic in the ever
growing pool of “I wish I hadn’t quit taking piano lessons!”
He will also share creative ideas for incorporating technology into
lessons with this level student.

Come join Wynn-Anne Rossi as she presents innovative
techniques for teaching composition in the piano studio.
Her two-hour presentation includes a Master Class with young
composers of all levels.

analysis of the main technical and musical features of piano music
by 20th century Mexican composers and how and why this repertoire is
an excellent choice for teachers who search for “refreshing”
repertoire to enrich their students’ musical training.

Gail Smith: Fanny Mendelssohn--It’s her 200th
Birthday!!

A variety of Fanny
Mendelssohn’s beautiful piano works are secured at the Mendelssohn
Archives in Berlin. Fanny
composed a lovely melody the day before she died and that melody is
inscribed on her tombstone in Germany.
Gail Smith hand-copied this tune to share with others.
This concert will give the listener a glimpse into the life
and music of one of the greatest women composers.

A recent research study
analyzed nine early childhood piano methods designed for teaching
the beginning 4 to 5 year-old piano student.
Attendees will learn what the research questions were all
about (availability, age-appropriate skills such as dance, singing,
creating, aural skills, etc.), the criteria for selecting
age-appropriate methods and what was recommended.
