Grants

A TMTA Teacher Enrichment Grant of up to $2,000 annually is available for music teachers who are members of a local association and TMTA. The grant will be awarded at the discretion of the TMTA Trustees.

A teacher may qualify for the grant if he/she:
1. Is presently teaching and needs funding to further his/her ability to obtain an undergraduate degree.
2. Has been teaching for five years or less and needs funding to establish a studio or to enhance :his/her present studio equipment.
3. Needs assistance in re-establishing his/her studio (music, instruments, etc.), due to a natural disaster.

Send the following information to the current TMTA Trustee Chair:
1. A statement outlining the plan of study which includes the following:
2. A description of your musical education and qualification.
3. A brief outline of your current work in music, instruments taught, number of students regularly taught, etc.
4. An explanation of how this learning activity will contribute toward the applicant’s career goals.

In addition send:
       1. Two letters of recommendation from previous or current teachers (private and/or college faculty.)
       2. A precise statement of finances needed to meet the costs of the projected course of study.

TMTA Teacher Enrichment Grant process:
1. The decision of determining the winner of the grant shall reside with the TMTA Trustees.
2. Those trustees will serve as the awarding committee.
3. The Head Trustee will promote and educate the membership as to the purpose and availability of the award. The Head Trustee will be responsible for seeing that the committee receives all     information concerning the applicants in order to make a valid decision.
4. The Award will be given at the next TMTA state convention following the decision. The winner will be announced at the convention at which time the $2000 check will be presented to the     recipient.
5. It is understood that any prior recipient or voting member of the TMTA Board is NOT eligible for the award. The applicants should study the requirements as stated in the TMT articles.
