Since its inception TMTEF has been financially responsible for student awards to provide goals and inspiration. These awards recognize achievement in performance, music theory, music history, publication, ensemble, and original composition. Financial sponsorship is provided for student winners who represent Texas at the four-state Division and National levels. More information and registration forms are available at the bottom of this page, from the TMTEF Trustees or the TMTA Office, 1106 Clayton Lane Suite 240 W, Austin, TX 78723. FundsThese funds are maintained separately from operating accounts. Jo Ann Dunn Fargason Memorial Fund helps fund the orchestra at the annual convention. Elizabeth Morris Memorial Fund helps to provide Ensemble Senior Awards. Donald Johnson Fund provides money for selected TMTA/MTNA winners. Agency Trust Fund supports various awards for Student Affiliate. Student Travel Fund was established to make funds available to student winners who will travel to higher levels of competition. ContributionsRecognition is given to associations who contribute $2.00 per member. These associations are noted as Fargason Fund Angels. A new challenge issued in 2003 encouraged a $4.00 per member donation from local associations. An additional challenge issued in 2005 encourages associations to donate $5.00 per member - $4.00 to the Fargason Fund and $1.00 to the Travel Fund. Forms are to be used for contributions and are available below, from the VPBA or from the TMTA Office, 1106 Clayton Lane Suite 240 W, Austin, TX 78723. Memorials and honorariums are accepted and recognized at the annual convention. These are charitable contributions and are considered such for tax purposes. Contributions are accepted through the Vice-President of Business Activities and may be made at anytime.
