TMTA SA Highlights: Performance

by Heather Rathnau, NCTM

The TMTA SA Performance Contest highlights the finest student performers in the state of Texas! It is open to students in grades 7-12 or post-12 <Young Artist> under the age of 27 by the contest date. A grade-level student must pass a state theory test of at least level four. The progression is local, region, semi-finals, and state finals. The categories include piano solo and concerto, organ solo, instrumental and vocal. Come hear all of the talented performers at the state convention. You will be inspired!

"Find a Teacher" feature on

the TMTA Website

There is a “Find a Teacher” function on the TMTA Website, BUT you must allow TMTA to show your email address and/or phone number by activating it in your profile. Go to your profile on the TMTA Website and click “Edit Profile” at the bottom of the screen. There are two very small boxes right below “phone number” and “email.” If you want prospective students to see this information, just click the box. It’s that easy!

Association Highlight

The Austin District Music Teachers Association (“ADMTA”) was organized in 1917 and became an official affiliate of MTNA and TMTA in 1923. ADMTA currently has 240 members and offers over 20 different local festivals, recitals and contests during the calendar year for music students. ADMTA is privileged to partner with the University of Texas Butler School of Music, and the Steinway Piano Gallery of Austin as premier locations for most of these events. Join us on Facebook here
