TMTEF Collegiate Award Application

General Information

All applications are welcome and must include the following three documents in addition to the completed TMTEF Collegiate Award Application Form:
1. Resume
2. Essay
3. Nomination Letter

Applications that are incomplete or exceed the one-page limit will not be accepted.
Total Award available: $2000


Resume of MTA Sponsored Activities and Experience

Resume may include, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Collegiate chapter (if applicable) - membership, leadership, research, and/or presentation at meetings, organizing  a festival or a competition sponsored by university, etc. 
  2. Local MTA - participation, helping with TMTA Theory or TMTA World of Music tests, competing and/or monitoring for local competition or festivals, presentations, community service activities sponsored through school or local MTA (such as performance at nursing homes, community event performances, helping with music in the public schools), etc. 
  3. Competitions or Activities - competing or monitoring at performance competitions, submitting an original composition or a publication 
  4. State Convention - attending, presenting a session, monitoring, serving as a page, performing in an ensemble or in a competition, judging or assisting with the All-Star festival 
  5. National Conference – attending, presenting, monitoring, performing, competing, judging, etc. 
  6. Teaching experience 
  7. Performances

Essay on Future Educational or Vocational Plans

Please include immediate plans as well as goals for the future. One page limit.


Nomination Letter

Please include one nomination/recommendation letter from Collegiate Chapter Sponsor or Local MTA teacher. One page limit.
