Disaster Relief Grant

TMTA Teacher Enrichment Grants for Disaster Relief of up to $1,000 are available for affected music teachers who need assistance in reestablishing their studios (music, instruments, etc.) after a natural disaster. Teachers must be a member of Texas Music Teachers Association. The grants will be awarded at the discretion of the TMTA Trustees. 


Submit documents/files with the following information:

  1. Photos of damage to studio, library, equipment, etc.
  2. A brief outline of your current work in music, instruments taught, number of students regularly taught, etc.
  3. An estimate of financial loss incurred. Please categorize by type: income,instruments, library, supplies, etc.
  4. Information about any other source of relief for which you applied, including instrument insurance.

TMTA Disaster Relief Grant process:

  1. Recipients of the awards will be determined by the TMTA Trustees.
  2. The Head Trustee will promote and educate the membership as to the purpose and availability of the award.
  3. The Head Trustee will be responsible for seeing that the committee receives all information concerning the applicants in order to make a valid decision. 
  4. Available funds will be disbursed on a continual basis beginning October 1, 2017.
  5. All applications will be reviewed as they are received.
