Local Association Enrichment Grant

PURPOSE: A grant of up to $2000.00 has been established to provide local TMTA associations teacher enrichment opportunities. This includes hosting an event featuring guest clinicians, masterclass teachers, or performers. The associations are encouraged to open these events to any TMTA member in the area. 

ELIGIBILTY:

  • Any TMTA local association.
  • Applicant may apply for funding for only once every 4 years. 
  • Proposed projects must occur during the grant school year (July 1 –June 30 of the following school year).
  • Awards will be granted at the discretion of the TMTA Trustees.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  April 1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Grant may be used for the association to bring in clinicians to hold workshops, masterclasses, or bringing in performers for the enrichment of all members.
  • The grant is not intended to be used to for monthly meeting programs. These should be separate events.
  • Grant applications for assistance with commercial ventures or projects that could be funded by an employer are not allowed.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

  • Quality (30 points)— Will the event enrich the members of the local association.
  • Implementation (30 points)—The association demonstrates ability to successfully design and implement the project. This might include documented planning, financial management and/or timeline.
  • Benefit/Impact (40 points)—Articulates how the association’s event will impact not only their local association, but the community they serve.

INFORMATION NEEDED FOR APPLICATION:

  • Brief description of proposed event (250 words max)
  • Description of how funds will be used (100 words max)
  • Dates of the event (must fall between July 1 and June 30 of the following school year)
  • Description of the event’s impact on personal growth of its member and/or students (250 words or less)

FOLLOW-UP REQUIREMENTS

  • If your association is awarded a grant, the following will be required to be submitted to the Head TMTA Trustee within one year of receiving the grant money.
  • A detailed description of how the grant money was used.
  • Any receipts for items grant money was used.
  • A brief explanation of how the event enriched the members of the association/students of the association.
